Lead By Serving

Greetings on behalf of the African American Heritage Committee, Inc. we would like to take this time to welcome you to our site. It is with great humbleness that we are grateful and appreciative for you taking the time to visit our site. The African American Heritage Committee, Inc. has sponsored two annual family events in Scotland County that celebrates not only African culture and heritage, but enhances the lives of families in surrounding areas.  Through arts, crafts, storytelling, kids activities, pageant, live music, drumming and dancing.  As a committee we see the value it brings to the local community and state.  Our events are published statewide and have been a tourist attraction for many years.  Not only do these annual events celebrate our heritage, but it also allows individuals and business to become involved as vendors and/or sponsors.

The annual Taste of Africa and Kuumba Festival are family events that encompass pride in our community and have been a staple of positive influence for our area.  We would like for that to continue.    With the help of you and your organization that will be made possible.  We are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.
